        Music Hints

Where suitable beach washed materials are in short supply,
a logical alternative is to use the human-made packaging or natural materials
all of which sometimes find their way to the sea.

       Plastic

clean plastic wrap can be stretched and secured with
tape over a comb to make a whistling sound
Polyvinyl juice containers make fine drums

Sand inside a PET bottle can become maracas

Plastic grocery bags flapped in the air can sound like
distant shore break (if you chain them together you can actually create
the white water as you flap)

      Paper

         Ripping
         Scrunching
         Flicked with the finger

      Wood

Chopsticks or shaslick sticks for rapping on something
          else or each other
Box with broken shells can act as an amplifier (pick
up a handful and drop them on the bottom of the box or try making a
          "rainmaker")

      Fingers tapping on

         Pots/pans/aluminum cans
Paper or Plastic ice cream containers
         Glass bottles (gently!)
         Or fingers simply clicked together

      Voices

        Grunting
         Bubbling laughter
         Squelchy sounds
         Clicking sounds
         Popping (finger in cheek)
         Whining
