Making a Splash with Coastal and Marine Education

Most exciting for MESA and the University of Tasmania recently was the announcement of a successful grant application from Envirofund. This project will provide resources and time to enable marine educators to work with beginning teachers across the state on developing coastal and marine education programs in their schools.

Not only will it give beginning teachers experience at writing curriculum units but will provide a wealth of ideas and resources for other teachers to allow them to incorporate coastal and marine units in the classroom.

Tania Stadler will be contacting Tasmanian schools soon to invite interested K-10 teachers, in their first three years out teaching, to participate in the program titled, "Making a Splash". Her contact number: 03 6226 2838.
