The MTAQ is a group interested in promoting a positive attitude to the environment through education of best environmental practices. We have approximately 300 teachers state wide involved in this endeavour. We endeavour to achieve this through the school curriculum by educating students from grades 8-12 in the areas of boating, snorkelling, undersea technology, tourism, recreation, fisheries, navigation, aquaculture, seagrass, mangroves, reef ecoligy, coastal physics, seafood and reef management.

National Centre for Marine & Coastal Conservation

Established in 2005 by the Australian Maritime College (AMC), the National Centre for Marine and Coastal Conservation (NCMCC) specialises in conservation education. The National Marine Science Centre, a teaching and research facility of Southern Cross University, lets members of the public explore the unique Solitary Islands Marine Park, NSW through a series of aquariums, guided tours and visual displays.
